CATHEDRA

The Cathedra draws its inspiration from Ancient Greek culture, where the word originally meant simply “sitting.” Through centuries of linguistic and cultural evolution, it eventually gave rise to the modern Greek word karekla, meaning chair. This piece pays tribute to that rich heritage, transforming a familiar object into a work of artistic and historical significance.
Crafted from solid wood, the chair showcases exceptional craftsmanship and timeless elegance. The back is finished with exquisite madrona veneer, whose natural grain adds warmth, depth, and character to the design. A luxurious high-gloss finish further enhances the beauty of the materials, creating a sophisticated balance between tradition and contemporary refinement.
In keeping with a philosophy of respect for animals and conscious design, both the seat and backrest are upholstered in high-quality artificial leather. The upholstery features a distinctive rhombus pattern, one of the artist’s signature motifs, adding texture, visual interest, and a recognizable element of the collection’s design language.
Combining cultural heritage, fine materials, and modern luxury, The Karekla is a celebration of Greek history reimagined for contemporary living—a piece where craftsmanship, comfort, and artistic expression come together in perfect harmony.
